The Roman Catholic Church of The Holy Innocents is located in the Fashion Center, mid-town Manhattan. Founded in 1866, the mission of the church is to be a spiritual oasis in one of busiest business districts in the world - Times/Herald Square. The celebration of four daily Masses, including one daily Mass in the Tridentine Latin Rite, confession, and public devotions, enable visitors time for personal and communal prayer. Fr. James L. P. Miara is the new Pastor of Holy Innocents. Effective July 1, 2016, our previous pastor Fr. Leonard Villa has been appointed the pastor of St. Paul the Apostle parish in Yonkers, NY.

[Fr_James_Miara] The incoming pastor of Holy Innocents, Fr. James Miara, is no stranger here. When the regular celebration of a Sunday Mass according to the 1962 Missal in the Extraordinary Form was restarted in 2010, Fr. Miara was there to celebrate the inaugural Solemn Mass on Sunday, August 15th, 2010.

Father Miara has been the pastor of St. Anthony’s Parish on Commonwealth Avenue, the Bronx since 2012, and he previously served as the administrator there. He had served as parochial vicar of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Bronx, 2004 to 2011. Before that, he served at St. Teresa’s, Staten Island, from 2001 to 2004. He was ordained in 2001.
